Mask Wearing

From the 16th May, the Scottish Government has advised to stand-down the current guidance regarding the extended use of fluid resistant face masks (FRSM) and face coverings within health and care settings for staff, patients and visitors.  

It is no longer necessary to wear any face covering unless it is required where there is a risk from close contact with individuals displaying respiratory symptoms.

Patients will not be asked to wear face masks unless there is a risk of transmission from individuals with respiratory symptoms, however, patients and visitors may still choose to wear a face covering as a matter of personal choice.

The new guidance covers all hospitals, health centres, community sectors, primary care facilities and care homes.

 VERBAL ABUSE

Unfortunately, our practice staff have been subject to an increase of verbal abuse over recent weeks from a small number of patients.

This is not acceptable and we would like to remind everyone to be mindful of this when contacting the practice.  The practice is extremely busy and we are dealing with queries as quickly and efficiently as we can.

Verbal abuse towards any of practice staff will not be tolerated and may result in you being removed from our practice list.

To make a face-to-face or telephone appointment with a GP or our Nurse, please call the surgery at 8:30am on the main practice telephone number - 01698 284 353. You will be offered the next available ‘on the day’ appointment or the opportunity to pre book a telephone call with our GPs. Our Patient Care Assistant team will guide you through the options available at the time.

If you have received a letter or text message about an annual review appointment, please telephone the practice to make an appointment. Please have your group details to hand.

An interpretation service is also available for use by patients.

Extended Hours

The practice offers a number of extended hours appointments. These appointments are general appointments which are available out with our normal practice hours between 7.30am and 8.00am and 6pm to 630pm on a variety of days. Should you require an extended hour’s appointment, please ask our team when you contact us.

Home Visits

House visits are for house bound patients or patients requiring end of life care. For the vast majority of patients attending an appointment at the Surgery is the best option. Attending the surgery allows our clinical team to have access to all our clinical equipment and, we can review your full medical history on our computer system. We would kindly ask any patient who is mobile (including using a walking aid, wheelchair or scooter) to see us in the surgery.

If you think, you qualify for a home visit, please ring before 10am. All visit requests will be reviewed to check if they are appropriate. The GP may telephone you first before attending your home

Always provide a current landline/mobile number that the Doctor can reach you on.

Cancel Appointment

If you no longer need, or can no longer make your appointment, we would be very grateful that you let us know so that we can give the appointment to someone else. To cancel an appointment, please telephone surgery on 01698 284 353.
